Wetsuit swimmers on the beach

Bushcraft skills by the sea

New Year at the Scarlet kicked off with a dance lesson on New Year's Eve in preparation for the evening's entertainment from the wonderful band Violet Jive; after the clock had struck midnight no one turned into a pumpkin as everyone was strutting their stuff on the dance floor to welcome 2010!

On the morning after the night before a group of plucky people agreed to take part in the wetsuit swim at Mawgan Porth beach - in fact one daring fellow stuck to his New Year's promise of getting in the water completely naked!  For the others it was wetsuits at the Surf Shack and a few warming games of 'wheelbarrow' before the dip commenced - back on the beach and warm drinks all round!

The Bushcraft Skills session was another chance to get outside on a stunning day, without getting wet this time!  The group joined Spanner, also our Scarlet team-building leader, in learning bushcraft skills, such as lighting a fire ourdoors.  For those more interested in their tummy's there was a food foraging walk in the local area which many found facinating and inspirational.

Our hope for the first Scarlet New Year was that our guests would come away with shared experiences and having made new friends - we hope that was the case and are very much looking forward to the year ahead - Happy New Year!!
