Friday 5th April  - Dinner - Scarlet restaurant sessions

Ben Hall -

A blend of acoustic covers, with a few heartfelt original numbers thrown in, Ben's style is all about the chill. Relaxed and mellow songs, ranging from Bon Iver, Damien Rice, through to his own takes on classics such as Bob Marley and John Butler.

Born in Leeds, played in mud, trees and always doing music of some sort. Now living in Cornwall with the waves at his doorstep, strumming away and after a sabbatical is ready to face the industry once again. Jonny loves studio work, being there while a bunch of people bring a song to a whole new level from the naked sweetness of just vocal and guitar, which is always revisited live. I also love how people relate the same songs to themselves for completely different reasons.

Cornish Charlie is a singer songwriter, who previously supported the likes of Jack Johnson and Paulo Nutini. His accoustic sets include a combination of folk, blues and his own unique guitar style. The perfect combination whilst wining and dining in our restaurant.

Kola are a folk band from Cornwall who evolved over the winter of 2010/11. Obvious influence can be heard in Kola's music from such greats as The water boys, Fleetwood Mac, Credence Clearwater revival and The Kinks but Ryan states his biggest influence as coming from "The Band". The duo have created a unique vibe which creates the perfect Scarlet atmosphere!

Born in a field 20-something years ago, Thomas Ford is a blues shouter, a guitar picker and a harmonica fire-breather. His energetic live shows have taken him from Bodmin to Berlin, his records have sold from the Eastern Block to the East Indies and he has been played on radio shows from Luton to Laos. Mixing delta blues traditions with new-blues song-writing, this one man trio has been hailed as “The rising star of British blues”.

Hailing from the shores of Cornwall, Joe from the Winter Mountain band blend melodic folk songs, heartfelt lyrics with a sound reminiscent of a time before digital recording when the emphasis fell on the importance of live performance, the power of harmony and the essence of the song. A beautiful acoustic set which is only complimented by our fantastic restaurant experience.

Tom has been busying away in the kitchen for sometime now, so we thought it was only right to get him out and about so he can show you what he can do. if you fancy coming along to say hello and taste some of his culinary delights, then why not join him at some of this years farmers markets and festivals.
