Wine at the Scarlet

Wine at the Scarlet is pleasurable, sometimes challenging, always enjoyable business. We have some memorable roses and bubblies we want to share with you.

Our very own Food and Beverage Manager Meeche Hudd is also our specialist on wines. With a passion and love for wines, and a real belief in the Scarlet ethos, she and Ellis Wharton wines have created a list that has a little something for everyone.

Like our food, some of our wines change with the seasons, we believe in small artisan producers that make exceptional wine. All are wines are European in Origin with the exception of one new world which is fantastic in every way, its story and quality make it something that can't be missed!

Why not go natural if you dare?

We also have a fine selection of natural wines to offer you, some biodynamic with organic practices, some bottled without sulphur or filtration. If you've not tried natural wine before, we think you will want to give it a go. Natural wines are lovingly produced by small, committed artisan growers working sustainably, organically or biodynamically - exactly the sort of thing we love at the Scarlet.

With summer on its way and some new comers to the wine list, Meeche has put together some of her favorites as an introduction to an interesting, daring and inspiring list.

Tarlant Champagne - Our House Champagne (We are an ambassador for Tarlant champagne)

"Champagne Tarlant is selected and represented, in France and the largest capitals of the world, by wine merchants, sommeliers who are passionate about their jobs. They are true ambassadors of our champagne and our knowledge" www.tarlant.com

Without added sugar, Zero (stands for zero dosage) is a frank fresh champagne that unveils all that the grapes and soil have to say. This Brut Nature is rare and remarkable in the balance of the three varieties benefiting from methods of cultivation which respect nature, and which are specially selected at perfect maturity.
