“I love to paint light and colour, whether that's landscapes, seascapes or gardens painted 'en plein air' or portraits, pets and interiors”
Haidee has grown up surrounded by the sea and art, watching her grandfather paint in oils in Suffolk and working for the artist Mackenzie Thorpe. She has been painting and drawing her whole life and studied Art and design at foundation level before completing a BA Honours degree in Illustration. She has been exhibiting as a fine artist and teaching ever since.
In 2010 Haidee bought a house on the beautiful island called the Ile de Bréhat in Brittany, France. An artist's paradise! Abundant flowers, sea all around, a microclimate, protected wildlife haven and the pink granite rocks.
Since returning to the UK in 2012 Haidee has won many awards including the SAA's Artist of the Year 2012, the Patchings/The Artist Pro Arte award 2012 and Patchings/The Artist Royal Talens award 2013 and the Royal Institute of Oil painters painting event award 2012.
She was selected by the BBC to paint the Queen's Diamond Jubilee pageant on the River Thames, and was the only non-US artist invited to participate in Florida's forgotten coast plein air paint out.
